Dreams Bed (not so) Superstore

I placed an order for a mattress in Dreams on 28th October and was told there was a 4 week wait for delivery, which I accepted. Naturally they took the £400 plus delivery charge off my credit card immediately.
Six weeks later we wondered what had happened and started to call their 0870 order enquiries line, each time they promised to call me back. Not a whisper.
I called the store where I had made the purchase and was told "it should have been dispatched but it's all dealt with in the warehouse" and to wait for a call. Still nothing.
Today I have told them I want my money back and the order cancelled. Apparently the person I need to talk to is off today and I will need to call him tomorrow.
Seven weeks of silence, my money sitting in their bank account, and no delivery.

I'm fuming!!

I wish I had never set foot inside a Dreams store - I ordered an iron bedstead and mattress and was told that they would be delivered on 5 September so I took the day off work and waited and waited. I phoned their customer service department - who are appalling by the way, they either don't answer, refuse to give their names and always promise to call back but never do. I was mislead in the store by the salesman because he told me that the bed would come from stock. I even mentioned the Watchdog programme that I had seen on TV but he assured me that all problems had been resolved - I berate myself and say sucker! After several calls to the customer service department, I then discovered that none of their beds are in stock and they all have to be ordered from various suppliers. My bed was eventually delivered on 28 September (yet another day off work) and I was advised that I could have compensation amounting to £10 - needless to say I am still waiting for the compensation even letters to their HQ have been ignored.

My suggestion Mai is to contact your credit card company and ask for a refund - you have paid for goods that Dreams haven't delivered and yet they have taken your money, I'd say that was theft.

    Good luck
