went to look at a secondary school today for DS, my lovely hubby pushed me round in my wheelchair while my mother and DS just stood in the way
embarassed hubby hugely as we were coming out of one of the buildings and I spotted a 5p in the doorway, grabbed DS and said '5p over there on the floor, go get it!!' and then popped it in my bag

Hi
I know its late in the year, but as I'm on the cusp of being debt free :j I'd like to join the challenge please!
I'm going to hit the ground running with the contents of my currently unsealed pot. It's cool because it counts the money as you put it in, and displays the total on the lid, however the lid unscrews and I do this too often. I shall be making an unopenable one for this challengeDecember 2005 TOTAL DEBT at its worst - [STRIKE]£20,596[/STRIKE]

Thanks! I live above a pound shop and they sell those big money tins that you can't open, they had different sizes and I opted for the largest one. Just sat and fed the contents of my old (see-through) change jar into it. I reckon its got about an inch of coins in the bottom so plenty of room! I like that it isn't see-through this time. Out of sight truly is out of mind in this case!
I've decided not to keep track of the amount in there for this reason too. I haven't decided what my target is. I've been budgeting for Christmas for a while, and its too soon anyway, so it will either be used to FINALLY visit my family in Australia, or if possible next Christmas!

1p to go in today, the pot seems to have got to an agonising point where, despite throwing all sorts in it, it's not getting any nearer to the top! Arghhhh!! Having said that, I'm only peeping through the slit at the top where the money goes in so I don't have a great view of the contents.Thank you competition posters!
