No power to Seat Alhambra Stereo / radio

Depends on the radio, for example this is a Sony -> ISO lead that comes with every Sony radio

You can unplug the red and yellow wires and swap them over.0 -
Ahh OK, I get it. No, this stereo does not come with swappable leads

but do they have yellow and red? if so, detach the above example from car and stereo and cut both yellow and red wires in half strip the ends and then with female and male spade connectors (about 20p from a factors) connect the red to yellow and yellow to red.Austinhead wrote: »Ahh OK, I get it. I tried an old stereo which did have the ability to swap the yellow and red leads around. This resulted in me getting power to the stereo, but I didn't want to turn on ?. Thinking this was just a knackered stereo I bought the adapter from Halfords (time was of the essence lol) and put that in. This resulted in the same problem - power but the stereo wouldn't turn on. I could hear hissing from the speakers.
Any more idea's ?0 -
Get a multimeter, stick one probe on the red wire and the other into a ground point such as the outer connection of the cigarette lighter.
When you turn the car on, do you get 12+ volts off the red wire?0
