Hi,
Can anyone pls help? I have a Visa Electron card with the Bank of Scotland. I think it has a £50 limit on it. If I bought something costing £51.94 would that go throught?

What do you mean by "£50 limit"?
Any Bank of Scotland account which carries a Visa Electron card is a basic bank account, and as such, does not carry an overdraft (if that's what you're referring to as a limit). If you simply mean you have £50 in credit, then the transaction should decline as an online debit card requires confirmation of available funds before it goes through.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
You can select an ATM limit of £50 a day.
This doesn't affect debit card transactions though.
Why do you ask?0 -
You should be able to spend upto the available funds you have in your account. I've never heard of a debit card (let alone Visa Electron) having a limit on what you can spend, only ATM withdrawal limits.
Gone from Poor to Excellent Credit. Proud of my recovery. Never going back to the sub prime!
