Some months ago Virgin Media was sending out deals via email.
These were special deals from their Retentions Dept in Birmingham.
Mine said over the next 12 months I would be paying £26 for my services and after 12 months just the phone line would be going up £5.99.
Some of you will know that VM increased their prices in April and a further increase is due in August.

I saw my bill rise in April and have just contacted them to be told that it may have been wrong for them to have sent out the email.I contacted only their customer services UK office.(You will be wasting your time to contact their offices abroad)
At the moment I have not contact the CEO but was curious if anyone else has gone to the CEO yet on this.(I know JONESAD has)

I may be wrong but if the email was sent to you it should entitle you to a fixed price contract for the term you agreed.

I was advised that I could cancel if I wished without any penalties. She was a little stressed when she told me this.Maybe others are phoning her frequently

I didn't get it by email, but I phoned them fuming. They weren't bothered - they just said that they can increase it according to the terms and conditions.
Hmmm, any chance of getting hold of that email?
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

This is the email I received in November 2010.I have not included the signature.I believe their phone number has changed but they can still be contacted on another number.Don't speak to their offices abroad as they will not be able to help.
They also say free 0870 numbers below.I actually get one pound in that 26.However they are free now but they want to increase the price for the privelege.
They are in effect removing my offer with a polite 'if you don't like it you can go'

    .
As requested from our conversation earlier this is the offer we discussed:-

    * XL phone package unlimited calls 24/7 to all UK landline numbers
    - with 250 international minutes (Italy and Spain included)
    - also including free 0845 0870 numbers.
    - and including line rental

    * L broadband with unlimited downloads at up to 10mb of fibre optic speeds.

    * XL tv package with a new V+ box.

All of this for just £26 a month this will be the price for the duration of your 12 month
contract. The phone will be on a 18 month contract and will increase by £5.99 after
    the 12 month period.

If you are happy to accept could you please call in on 0207 308 6462
look forward to hearing from you,
