uPVC window repair?

Options
I have uPVC double glazed windows that were installed probably around 20 years ago by a company called Windowseal (based I think in Stoke-on-Trent but could be Cheshire). A while ago they came out to repair my front door, after it's 10 yr warranty had expired but now I can't find a trace of them when I search. One of my small windows has broken on it's opening mechanism - it drops a bit so then won't shut properly. Have managed to close it for now by son pushing it upwards from outside but it needs seeing to.
Does anyone know if Windowseal do exist still, or recommend another company local to south Cheshire that might be able to carry out non-extortionate repair. However much it might be worth it long term, we just can't afford to replace them all right now

Why do you want Windowseal to fix it? Any decent Double Glazing repair company will do it. Just Google something like Window Doctor or Double Glazing Doctor and you should get a few companies pop up.

I asked about them as I was happy with them before when they repaired my door for free. And I also asked for recommendations as there's a lot of companies around and I'd prefer to get one that people can vouch for, and not risk a rip-off merchant. I've had fingers burnt before by just googling and trying, and would always prefer to have a recommendation. And if there's a small local firm that will just do a good job at reasonable price I'd be happy to use them, than just pick a big name and hope I get decent guys

Why not buy a new friction hinge youself from Toolstation or Screwfix and do it yourself, simple job 3 screws each side and the window will come out, the cost £5.00.

replacing the hinge is the normal method, however sometimes it just needs adjusting and lubricating.
