Citibank Sterling Account

My current situation is that I am discharged from Bankruptcy since 9 May 2006 and have been accepted for the Citibank Sterling Account. My credit files are all showing accounts included in my Bankruptcy as settled/satisfied. I have just been of the phone with then and was told my account was set up yesterday. I’m now waiting on my welcome pack.

Please note I live in Scotland where obviously Bankruptcy laws are different i.e. you are not discharged until after 3 years.

I notice there has been quite a few postings regarding this account and it is good a bank is able to offer a full Visa Debit Card and cheque book to people in our situation.

I do have an account with the Clydesdale Bank at the moment there Readycash account with full Maestro however I thought I had nothing to lose in applying for the account with Citibank.

Is there anyone in a similar position who has been accepted for this account?

Regards
Steven

    Hi kevster1009,

How long did it take to complete your complete your application? I have applied for my account for over 2 weeks but still waiting. Also do you have any bad debt?

  • Hi,
We applied about 10 days ago, it apparently takes 2-3 weeks (plus public holidays obviously at this time of year) to process applications.
