Wifi Not Working

Options
Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

The wireless on our Aspire 2930 has stopped working.

The Wifi function key along the left-hand side wont light up but it will say Enabled/Disabled upon pressing it. Device Manager shows the device working properly and the drivers are up to date (its an Intel Wifi Link 5100).

Windows diagnosis came up with the helpful "Turn On Wireless"

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

  • If you're using Windows Vista or 7, press start and type 'Windows Mobility Center' apparently there's an option in there to turn your adapter on and off from within windows.

I've read (after a quick search) that the button is possibly hard-wired to the wifi card in the machine so possibly could be a faulty switch?

Give it a try and let us know if you have any luck
