hi just wondered if anyone has used building supplies online Ltd (BSO) just wanted to check them out before buying,thanks all

I did consider using them but went with http://www.builditshop.co.uk/

I've used them a few times and found them very good and helpfull ..it might depend on what you need but I know a fair few items were cheaper than building supples online

Thanks for the alternative but unfortunately they don't seem to stock plain T&G softwood floorboards or skirting.

Incidently i did find some reviews (on the reviewcentre.com) of BSO (2 very bad and 21 extremely good - so not sure how genuine they are.

Could anybody tell me how these were. I've found this one as well online-building-supplies.co.uk they look good and I have seen them popping up alot on google. Somebody on another forum has used them with a good review and they have really good feedback on Ebay.

I ordered from BSO about a year ago when I needed new skirting, architrave and coving.
What they did then (and I presume it is still the same) is that they contact the builders merchants in your area and source the items from there and have them delivered by the merchants. So in my case BSO ordered from Travis Perkins and had TP deliver to our house.

I think they may get a decent price with the merchants but I have now found it easier to go to the local merchants in my area direct and negotiate a decent price myself (depending on how much you are buying).
Thats just my preference but I didnt have any issues with BSO.

I placed an order for some rockwool insulation and plasterboards a couple of weeks back, it was delivered within 24 hours of my order and all in perfect order.

As another poster has said they outsource to other builders merchants.

I read mixed reviews online, and because i needed the items for a certain date i called them first to check that they could supply the items i needed, in the timescale i needed, they confirmed they could so i went online and placed the order.

Can't fault them.
