Help with Tenby Howdens??

Options
I'm trying to get a final plan for a Howdens Tenby kitchen done tonight and am having problems. Just on the off chance some one can help:

A corner wall unit. TBY5472. Is it 631mm wide? On my howdens design drawing I have on the wall the TBY5472 and a 450 wall unit TBY5416 and they are shown as stopping short of the 1000HL 50 RH Cnr (LHH) TBY5341. How can that be?

I need from the corner the base and wall units to line up so at that point I can have the nice canopy (p176 of new brochure) over the hob but with widths of 631mm not a cat in hells chance. I must be missing something.

Any one who can help I'd be very very ....

Cheers

All howdens corner wall units are 631mm wide x 631 wide. I fitted one about 2 weeks ago.

Go to Howdens website - Product spec - kitchen collection - Click on 'Tenby' door & it brings up a window of all the product spec/sizes for that range. http://www.howdens.com/product-range/product-specification/kitchens/

    Hope this helps

    Thanks guys.

OK having studied the Howdens drawings I can see they have set the 1000mm base away from the wall. That leaves an unused cavity in the corner. Does this happen with all types or is it a Tenby design feature?

And they wonder why people buy German kitchens :D

When a standard base is used in the corner, it is always bought away from the wall and a cavity left. This is to allow a door pillar to be put in so that the 2 corner doors don't foul on each other.

  • Hi, as your 1000 cnr unit sits 131mm away from the wall
In order to make your base units and wall units line up,
You will need a 500mm wall unit after your 631.
So both your wall and base measurements will be 1131mm.

Phill and Brownie many thanks. Now all becomes clear.

I'd imagined that a corner base unit costing list over £600 would sort that but clearly not. I was going to put a filler in on the connecting side so doors would not foul each other but presumably that still wouldn't work as I assume the door would foul even the filler.

    C'est la vie

There's not a Howdens in Tenby the closet one is Nayland, but you will need £1.50 for the bridge.
