Loose part on my tumble drier....but where does it go???

My tumble was making a funny noise, which i presumed was a snapped belt. Well today i eventually found time to have a wee look, and after much rumaging, i found the real problem. A piece of thin metal, resembling the crumb tray on the toaster had fallen off and was rubbing against the drum. This part is from somewhere near the heating element, but i THINK it should be between the element and the drum somewhere (ie its not part of the element casing....well i dont think so!!) Now, ive set it free, but ive no idea what the part is and where it should be!!
Any ideas? Im a single mum, so no way am i getting someone out to fix it!!!

BTW, tumbler is a Zanussi TD62
Any help would be greatly appreciated....i cant afford a drier so close to Xmas!
