Having a bad day already

Today is not going well.

Got my departmental do 2nite, which is going to cost me £30 to get home from, and having such a bad day I dont even want to go.

I wish I had stayed in bed!!

I am frantically printing a mailmerge for my boss and sorting out brochures etc, and none of it is good enough for him (even tho it is at such short notice as it has to go out today) so he has moaned at me non stop today. I feel like crying, getting my bag and going home and def dont feel like spending the evening wasting my money on dinner with him (and the rest of my team).

Sorry moan over!

Feel free to moan my dear!

Bosses more often than not deflect their own shortcomings onto those around them.

Its not your fault you dont have more time, thats his, and chances are he's only moaning about the quality because he's got nothing better to do.

He obviously cant do as good a job as you otherwise he'd be doing it!

My suggestion would be make yourself a post it voodoo doll, go for the knackers! :)

Oh dear I know how you feel, we/....sorry I have just finished handwriting/franking/stuffing annual diaries into envelopes and posting them!
why do bosses wait till the last minute then find it their right to complain?

Proud to be dealing with my debts!;)
Why is a person that handles your money called a broker?!
  • loopyloulou,

    Don't go tonight. Stuff him!

It doesn't sound like it'll be much fun anyway.

Save yourself £30, buy a bottle of your favourite tipple, put your feet up and watch tv.

Sounds like you need a rest anyway ;)
  • glad its not just me feeling put on.

I work for my Dad who is on holiday in NZ he sent me a text last night telling me to pay everyone a bonus but didn't include me! He's accused me of having a chip on my shoulder! well i did tell him it was sexual discrimination as everyone is a bloke!

I hope things get better for everyone else today, don't forget work do aren't compulsory!

    Couldn't have put it better.

I hate works parties with a passion, they're always at places I wouldn't want to go to if it wasn't a works do that are miles away & cost me a fortune to get to & the food/entertainment is invariably poor.

Haven't been to one since Christmas 1999
  • Come on people! Its GOOD to let your hair down once in a while. Party on!
  • Lou,

Maybe you need to look at this positively? I know that mailmerging and stuffing envelopes sucks but could you ask any colleagues/secretaries etc to help?

If not, maybe you could sit yourself in a separate room with the radio and stuff away. That way it seems to go quicker and will lift your mood (speaking from experience).

Its nearly the holidays and it sounds like you could do with enjoying yourself a little.

    Chin up

  • loupyloulou, I am going to go against the grain and say that you should go! Whenever I have had arrangements for the evening and had a bad day and not wanted to go, then ended up going anyway I have had a brilliant time...There is something about not wanting to go to things that makes them really good in the end.

What about if you go, and tell yourself that if it is pants you just go home? And then you will get the chance to see what happens....If you did leave really early, would you be able to get home without a cab?
