Is it me or is Scottish Power really inefficient?

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum so please go easy on me. I'm now on minute 19 of my 15 p per minute call to Scottish power (keep being thanked for my patience) so to pass the time I Just wondered if anyone else had this experience?...

I'll try to be brief:

1. In April I moved house, called Scottish Power in advance, they said wait until you move in and call us. (5 min )

2. I moved in , I called them, they said they'll send a final bill. (20min)

3. As my account was online I logged in to check if they had started closing it, it was still open and had nothing about the move. (15 min)

4. I called again, told to wait it was in progress (10 min)

In the mean time, I Was unable to manage my new account online because the old account had the same email address, so...

5. Called again, put through to "online team" ( seperate team!) 25 min
and told that my account should now definitely be set up.

Waited 3 days to be able to input readings online. Decided to change to the "Fixed rate" plan at the advice of MSE. Did this online, I was then locked out of my account again because " The System needs to update".

3 weeks later, I now cannot access my account online again because apparently my account is "in the process of being closed and finalised"

WHAT?

Having spent a total of over 2 hours on the phone to Scottish Power I am now getting really frustrated. It seems that the online bit of their business is just "bolted on" and doesn't talk to the main system, resulting in me calling up repeatedly to get issues sorted.

I am now on my 23rd minute of this 15p a minute call, and I really am not feeling patient.

It bugs me that these companies feel that consumers have the time to spend hours on the phone because of their inefficient operations.
Sorry to go on, has anyone had a similar experience with online accounts from SP?

***Just to update, it turns out Scottish Power have actually moved me out of my new home without telling me!!! - a new one for me !! They are now investigating the issue ***

Sorry, cant help with your problem, but can advise, use saynoto0870 and try and find an alternative to these 15p a minute calls...
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

If you go to the Scottish Power home page there is a "request call back link". I have never used it and do not know if it would be suitable for your situation but give it a go and let us know the result.

    Similar to the OP.
I 'left' SP over a month ago on a Duel Fuel account.
Last week had my FINAL Elec Bill.
No mention of the £150 I have paid in by C/C to ensure I've not built up a large bill.

Nothing from the Gas side yet.

Should I wait or should I phone them and see what they say.
I can't email them on my account as as the first poster this has been shut down.

Stupid to shut my account online down before everything has been finalised.

Or is that what Scottish Power do.

The best thing for me about Scottish Power putting their prices up (and its a lot more that 19% in some cases) is that it allowed me to move to someone else early as I was locked in and very unhappy with my time with them.
