who made the booking? if you booked it yourself it gets put down as an expensive mistake I am afraid.

Sadly, it's an expensive lesson. I've done it several times with hotel and flights. You just have to learn to triple check the details before you click the "buy" button and then triple check the confirmation details as soon as you get them. It may be possible to correct an error within minutes of booking but not if you leave it until the first day of your holiday.

I once got some cheap 1p flights from Ryanair, took the time off work and got to the airport - only to find that they were for the previous day. The hotel I had booked was non-refundable so I had to pay several hundred pounds for a last minute flight.

I once drove to Stansted to catch a flight went to check in only be told "but sir, this flight is from Gatwick!"

I've turned up at hotels and found that my booking was for the previous month. Got to learn to tell the difference between US and European date formats.

You just have to take it on the chin and try not to let it ruin your holiday.

    Hi
Do you agree that it was you who made the mistake in the booking dates?

If you do, there's unfortunately no comeback and you'll just have to put it down to experience. Ouch!

If you're disputing that it was your mistake and you didn't book the wrong month, do you have any documentation to support this?

You say "therefore my mistake" so the loss is down to you,
if it had been someone else's fault you would have wanted the loss to be down to them.

    Seems fair to me.

maybe look at it this way - at least they had rooms available on your actual dates?

Afraid I agree with the others that there's no one to contact and it's just an expensive lesson to learn.

We always book DIY and I'm always having panics thinking I've booked something for the wrong day...the number of times I'm in bed the night before a flight and I rush down to the computer to quadruple check something I cannot count...my husband stands behind me when we book anything - and we both check all the details before we commit to anything...totally paranoid but so far it's worked for us...
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I hope you are not a travel agent:eek:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
