More and more people are seeing ideologically motivated government-inflicted austerity and job losses and erroneously blaming banks for it, hence people trying to "get back" at them. That and the usual "banks-are-rich-I-am-poor", "Why don't banks voluntarily give up legitimately earned profit to benefit me in particular" stuff.
If I were a conspiracy theorist, which I'm not, I'd say David Cameron has a lovely blame deflection scheme going there.
