Another point is as well that if you have run the aco!!!! well for 366 days then you will not be charged a fee, this was introduced back in 2009 and of course if you do incur a fee due to timescale or more than one fault the fee is now reduced from 19.50 to 15.00 since march this year.

I thought it was 3 strikes and out in any rolling 12 month period with Co op unless changed?0

Hi OP, this is off topic but I was wondering did you already have a mortgage before you went BR, or did you manage to get a mortgage after you were discharged?0

Most of the customer services people are brilliant and won't have a battle with you but will look at the circumstances involved. This happened to me and they were brilliant and didn't charge me once I had explained.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
After my little blip with the Co-op I decided to try and get a current account with a different bank. My decision is in no way a reflection on the Co-op, they have been a very helpful, considerate and professional banking service providor. I first phoned Barclays customer line to confirm that I would be eligible for an account and to ask what I needed to provide to open an account. They were one of my creditors when I filed for br, an overdraft and loan. I then went in store to make similar enquiries and arrange a day to go in and open the account, my previous accounts were still on file, the lady even managed to bring them up when I recited old account numbers in parrot fashion. An appointment was made, work got in the way, I rescheduled, turned up and the appointment hadn't been 'booked', had another one made. At this point I was getting more and more nervous thinking it was a sign that I should not 'risk' opening with them - br makes you cautious and suspicious lol. Finally today 2 weeks after my initial contact I went in and I am now the proud owner of a Barclays cash card account and savings account. Both the accounts were opened in my local branch. I have been told that the internet access option is not available to me as yet. I will be treating the accounts with caution for a few months just to make sure, but I am happy :T:T.2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)

That is the other account that is available if you are BR and is one we recommend.
If you take in proof of discharge they should hook you up with internet banking.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Thank you for that tip tigerfeet2006, they didn't ask for any proof at the time. I will go in next week - work permitting, and see if showing discharge proof makes a difference.2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)

I went 56 pence over a couple of months ago and they bounced my mortgage payment! Couldnt believe it but thankfully I phoned my mortgage provider and they didn't charge me for the direct debit not going through and said it wouldn't count as a missed payment.
