Price Increase After Goods Paid For

Four days ago I purchased a dishwasher from Shop Electricals, via their web site, paid for by my debit card, and the cash was taken from my account.
They now inform me that they cannot deliver because the price has gone up, but they will offer me a fifferent model, lower spec, for the price I paid.
Anyone have any ideas as to where I stand, I am quite sure if I had asked for a price reduction after I had paid, I would be told where to go.

Sounds like they are in breach of contract - insist they supply the model you ordered, at the original cost, or refund all monies you have paid them."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

i didn't think they can do that:eek:0

Speak to your local trading standards or consumer direct, they should be able to advise you of what you can do.0

In accepting the payment in first place they formed a contract with you thus agreeing to supply you with the goods at that price and if they fail to supply at that price they are breaking the contract. They cannot increase price afterwards.......but check the small print to see if they state anything to the effect that they can which would alter things somewhat though I am not sure of legality of things if they have said something.

I suggest you check the T&Cs you will probably find a clause in case they find the goods have been mispriced within a specified time giving the option to cancel or amend"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

If they've definitely taken the money then, as long as it wasn't an obvious mistake (i.e. it was £500 and you paid £5) then you do have a contract and can insist they complete on it assuming there's no other genuine reasons they can't complete (e.g. model not made any more). Look up 'loss of bargain'.
That said, you'll have to balance up the hassle and initial outlay if you have to take legal action, versus the amount it's gone up by.0 -
sounds wrong to me you have paid so the dishwasher must be yours2015 wins £4.00 not mse:(
2014 £44.00:mad:2013 £83.00 2012 £601.50
2011 £1554.50 2010 £698.00 2009 £2793.00
2008 £2816.00 2007 £1034.000 -
Hmmm, I think I'll try this with them.
Me : "I'd like to buy x product at £50 please"
Them : "ok" here's your goods, now £50 please"
Me : "Actually, I think the price should be lower. here's a tenner. Bye!"
You can try to insist that they sell the goods at the lower rate. Inform trading standards as this is totally out of order.Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0
