i occasionally leave a line open at work if someone has bugged me badly enough
i can be contacted by mobile so not too worried
its good to pick up the phone 10 minutes later hearing them trying to get your attention0 -

When a (particular) boyfriend particularly annoyed me I used to phone his house, talk to him then never hang up, thus rendering his line unusable. Eventually he came to his senses and dumped me. He chose ease of communication over me, and who can blame him, frankly?
Ahh yes, my MIL just to do this to me..... she was (and still is) completely off her trolley!0 -
Some Years back, a builders storage yard directly behind my then tower block flat, would spend the early hours of the morning, joyriding the diggers, tippertrucks and jcb's. From 1 til 8am nobody in the block could sleep.
After numerous complaints from both the Council and noise abatement were ignored, I lost it and rang their office. The man on thee other end told me to "F OFF" and hung up. I rang back and this time there was no answer.
Unphased I left the phone ringing, knowing full well that whilst this night foreman was ignoring the phonelines, nobody else would be able to ring them either. Eventually he answered and said "F OFF!" more sternly then hung up, I was happy with this as I knew that now his phoneline would be dead, up until I hung up. Reluctantly (after a whole night), he picked up the phone and said "I'm sorry". Too little too late of course, but that was the straw that broke the camels back.
BT (not VM who use their own fibre optic phoneline) would not ring a customer and demand payments, such things appear in a printed bill. Furthermore, if there is one thing BT would NOT do, is say "Look I can prove it.........hang up and try n call someone if you dont believe me!". Big businesses like BT just dont do those kind of things.
If it happens in future, the moment he tells you to hang up and dial, hang up, have a brew, watch telly or read a book, he cannot hold the line indefinitely, aside from the wrist ache, his bill might just scupper his plans.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
