What a crass and defamatory comment.
Minehead itself is one of the nicest seaside towns you could visit. Not overly commercialised and with a beautiful old village on the hill. A very quaint and pleasant avenue runs perpendicular to the beach also.0 -

Not all people, even on the adults weekends get drunk and spew everywhere. In any case, vomit from drinking would not contain the virus unless the person is infected. Why should people without kids be banned just because a norovirus outbreak happens?!? Cruise ships suffer from norovirus, hospitals, schools - anywhere there are a large amount of people in close contact.
In fact if you look at transmission, it is far more likely to outbreak where there are large numbers of children, simply because their hygiene (when not chased by parents with wipes) may not be great, they have more 'contacts' with people (playing with other children) and often put their hands in their mouths.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -

Bit of a crass comment this one, i worked at butlins minehead for 8 years, and they had this virus go around every year, but it was not at the beginning of the year or end, when they do allow the adult weekends, but normally in the height of summer when the resort is full of familes, it only takes 1 person with the virus to go on holiday there, and it spreads like wildfire, as you could probably imagine with around 8,000 people confined into a relatively small space.
As to the op yes they do seemed to have treated you badly, but i suppose if they are getting sued by joe public with regards to the virus at another resort you could probably understand their stance, this is just another prime example of the american litigation culture that has developed in this country over the past few years:mad:Take every day as it comes!!0 -
The majority of people have no clue about hygiene and how germs are spread, most people do not even wash their hands when they get home,Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Lots dont wash hands period!
I have been in public toilets and seen people come out of cubicles after flushing the toilet and then leave without washing their hands....disgusting!0 -
Butlins may have gone over board here. Their treatment does seem very heavy handed as you were coping well with the situation by yourself. Keep your child away from public and cleaning your apartment.
But my company and my daughters school make it very clear that if you have had any sickness or dodgy tummyyou should stay away for 48 hours after illness has finished. Still doesn't stop the bosses from moaning that your not there
Some people really have no idea about hygiene!!0 -
having worked for butlins i can totaly understand there policies and the reasons im sorry you felt it ruined your holiday but they did not know what your daughter had so had to take precautions so as not to affect the whole camp including staff because then they would be screwed i myself was ill whilst working and had to stay in my appartment all day for a week i wasnt allowed to leave untill i had been given the all clear
but i also understand that your upset the way it was handled no one likes to be told they have to go home from holiday and to be escorted from the camp desent seem fair
you have been given a refund for the amount of days you missedd which seems pretty generousReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -

So you used to work for Bourne leisure. That would explain your biased stance to my complaint regarding haven then?0
