The US is a member of NATO and this is a NATO initiative, the US are there...

Just watched a report on the news.
Gaddafi is sending rockets into civilian towns and villages, filled with ball bearings.
The ball bearings are designed to cause maximum casualties as the rockets explode. It seems he's also trying to send the rockets directly to where children are known to reside.

Do I think we would really be there without other motives? Hmmm. Not sure. But the lack of the US is a telling point.
Either way, over-riding all that, I'm glad we ARE there. As I say, we've watched too much human tradegy take place in the past while standing by and doing nothing....when we could have prevented many many deaths and suffering.
Fine but why not Zimbabwe for example:question:"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Because for some bizarre reason, Mugabe has a lot of allies in that part of the world. Not the same for Gaddafi.0 -
Exactly, the Arab League were enthusiastic in supporting the Libyan initiative; not so the sub-Saharan African leaders who feel a misplaced* support for Mugabe from the old Colonial days.
*'Misplaced' because it is the whole of sub-Saharan Africa and it's inhabitants who suffer. I just don't understand why African leaders are so blind especially since it has led to the vile xenophobia in South Africa.
Anyway, just because you can't help people in one part of the World, does that mean you shouldn't help people anywhere?
Just don't understand why anyone with any sensitivity would be against the Libyan intervention.0
