Re-heating sausage rolls -remind me someone please

I'm making sausage rolls to eat hot on Christmas eve evening. Can I re-heat them for Christmas day tea?

I've gone blank on this one. I've got an idea at the back of my mind that you need to be extra careful with sausage rolls

Reminder: You need to re-heat your sausage rolls. :)

Erm... the only thing I can remember seeing is that you must ensure that they are piping hot throughout.

This means above 72°C according to government guidelines.

The pastry can act as an insulating blanket - so you need to check the sausage for temperature rather than the pastry.

I thought it was pretty obvious, but I had this idea in my head about sausage rolls and food poisoning - don't know where I'd got it from  as I'm usually pretty clued up about this stuff. Christmas is beginning to get to me:o

    You're welcome.

I'm not sure that mine is the definitive answer though - I'm sure there'll be someone along in a minute with a different view :)

  • I would thaw first and then cook because the pastry will cook a lot quicker than the meat

I might do that actually. That way we won't scoff the lot on Christmas Eve;) Only trouble is, will there be enough room in the fridge?:)
