  • This thread isnt about the morals of using the voucher. Im not going to sit and justify to anyone what i buy and how.

    mishka

but for some reason you chose to do it anyway:
Well i personally have given cd-wow about £20 of business they wouldnt have had otherwise and you will probably find that is the reason they are still allowing this to happen,

    and as for this:

I would suggest if you are opposed to the re-use of vouchers you start a different thread over on discussion board to debate it !

    mishka

I would suggest reading my comments properly before dispensing advice !
I'm not condeming anyone for taking advantage of this exploit btw.
    .
  • I had one of the original £5 codes, that Ia cannot seem to use more than once.
    What am I doing wrong???
When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!
  • As ive said before disscussion time is for debating, i dont care if i contradict myself with every breath or if you agree with me or not.

Im sure no-one here gives 2 hoots , please dont clog up this thread with any more 'break-downs' of what ive said.

One of mine worked the other one didn't... I'd presumed it was just luck if odd ones got through ? Can't think that I did anything different when aquiring the codes ? One went to an Outlook inbox, the other Hotmail ? Nah, wouldn't mean anything would it ?

On the subject of morals ( and I say this in the nicest way ;) ):

Although feeling a tad guilty having a single code that works, due to my circumstances I will take any opportunity to save or make money for myself and my kids ( legal ones that is ;) )... hell I need it ! People may see this morally wrong, ( probably those without a voucher ? ) but I don't. I don't believe I'm breaking the law ?

If I bought something from a highstreet shop with a voucher, walked out the door then the store owner came running after me saying that I couldn't buy the item afterall and would I give it back... then I wouldn't, and I don't think I would be expected to ?

    *Awaits onslaught* ;)

If something you say appears untruthful to me, and I believe it to be false, I'll post what I believe to be a more truthful account [and others can make their own minds up]. Contradicting yourself maybe acceptable to you, but when it leads to [imo] incorrect information being posted, it's justifiable to have that recorrected [and I'd be more than happy for someone to recorrect my own comments]. That you don't care about such things as self-contradition is irrelevant. And I have no interest in your agreement, nor do I wish to discuss the reuse of vouchers as a concept either, I just wanted to recorrect the statement:
you will probably find that is the reason they are still allowing this to happen,
which I thought was not true and pretty irresponsible posting.

    Back on topic:
The expiry date for these vouchers was first advertised as 31/12, then someone mentioned 01/12. Mine are still active. Does anyone have any idea about the expiration date, or has anyone's come up as expired yet?

How did you pay for the remaining balance after the voucher amount was taken off?

this has a lot to do with it

But one voucher didn't take the discount off in the first place ? Didn't get to checkout so it can't have anything to do with payment method ?

but the one that didnt work this time, worked at some point, no? Whether it works again is dependant on a number of different glitches. If it was expired on the first time it was used, it's normally completely expired [although this isn't always the case].

The one that is reusable will have most likely gone through differently to the one that isn't working. It depends on how you paid with each of them, and how that payment gets processed. If you paid by credit card for both of them, understanding why one works and one doesnt is fairly straight forward.

    edit:
If you meant that you were the original recipient of 2 vouchers, and it didnt work from the start [ie: it's never worked], then you could email them and ask them for a new one, because they should all work fine from the off. I wouldnt advise emailing them if you have a number of vouchers or purchases using the multiple use of your other vouchers though, for obvious reasons ;)
