Maybe the landlady never watched any telly. I don't think landlords are responsible for ensuring that their tenants can watch TV. Is there any reference to TV aerials in your tenancy agreement?
  • no but to be fair we live in the 21st century and to rent a property at the cost of 775 a month, i feel their must be a onus on them to make me aware of the problem before i entered into a twelve month tenancy agreement. the cost of cutting the trees down is approx 1,500

If having a clear TV signal is vital to you then the onus is on you to ask the question before signing up.

Have you talked to the LL/LA about your problem? If yes, what did they say?

How you feel and the reality are two different things. If TV was important to you the onus was on you to ensure that any services you required were available. Forget about the cutting down of trees!

Speak to the agent and see if it can be resolved amicably somehow. The landlady might be minded to share the cost of resolving this but you dont know until you ask
  • just to let you no i carnt get any picture nothing zero zilch but thanks anyway just never crossed my mind to ask like it never crossed my mind to ask if it has running water. the housing estate is only 5 years old

Yes, when you said that you couldn't get any TV reception I think we all realised that that meant "no picture nothing zero zilch"!

Have you asked your neighbours about their reception? Just get onto the agents and ask them about how this may be resolved. A much better use of your time than getting all petulant about it.

Speak to LA/LL and see if LL will pay for an aerial to be put up, if answer is no, ask if you can split the costs, if again no, and you want TV, you will have to have your own aerial installed, (with permission of LL)

I had a new aerial fitted last year, think it was £130 roughly so not that expensive.
  • once again thanks however tv aerial was my 1st point of call he,s had it on a pole etc etc but to no avail trees down or no tv

I'd like to see a picture of these very large trees that must be cut down. Is that possible?
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Quite possibly a dumb question but you're not trying to get analogue TV in an area where its been switched off are you?
