Last year my best friend bought me a selection of lipstick and lipgloss - I've known her years and have never worn any of the stuff. Not a naff present as such just completely wrong for me!

Maybe she's trying to tell you that she thinks you would look better with a bit of makeup on.

  • Why not post unwanted pressies on here after x-mas and see if anyone would like them.
I do give things to the charity shop but sometimes get a bit cross because I make the effort to box things up, park and lug them in and don't even get a thankyou from the staff!!
Would be happy to post things on here and send them to people that want them. People are so different5

i so agree with you...... i too feel i am doing some good by giving some pretty nice things to charity shops and although i dont do it for praise, just to have someone to look in my direction and say a simple thanks would be nice. all i ever get from mine is -stick it over there, without even as much as looking at me... it makes me so mad and i wonder how many people it puts off ever bringing stuff in again?
  • I always get smellies from my SIL and I never ever use them. I recycle them by giving them to someone else for a present, or I donate them to the raffle that my mum does.
My MIL always buys OH and me really fancy biscuits or chocolates. These OH takes into work after Xmas to share with colleagues as we are a bit common and dont like "fancy" chocolate, they are usually a mix of white, milk and dark and we only like milk so two thirds of them end up in the bin and its such a waste. Now a block of Cadburys dairy milk on the other hand wouldnt stay sitting around for long.........
She buys them because thats what we buy her. BUT we buy them for her because she likes them, (she has actually told us that they are her favourites) So because we buy them for her she thinks WE like them.
Not wishing to sound ungrateful but in some ways Id rather they didnt buy us anything because we are landed with these presents and I hate waste, and its such a waste of their money.
(Edited to say, we have actually told MIL that we like Cadburys, or Yorkie etc and not really into "posh" chocs but she still buys them anyway.)
