Pizza Express deals don't always work

Be careful of Pizza Express deals as they don't tell you all of the rules up front. My daughter and three friends went to Pizza Express and they wanted to split into two bills - one half claiming the 2 for £12 deal and the other half using Tesco vouchers. When it came to paying the bill, they were told they couldn't do this as they are unable to split a table. However, when I phoned to complain, after much haggling, they eventually conceded that if they had told the "restaurant" that they wanted split bills before they ordered, they could have done this. BUT nowhere do they state this.
Come on Pizza Express - play the game. If you are going to offer these deals, let us know the rules BEFORE we start. Shame on you!

dont most deals have in the T&C not to be used with other offer which is what you were trying to do?

yes ive seen printed on the PE vouchers that they cant be used in conjunction with the tesco vouchers but you mgiht be able to get round this by splitting the bill as such so 2 use the tesco vouchers and the 2 use the 2 for £12

If it said on the menu "please request split bills when ordering" would that help?
