How does Ecotricity compare?
Hi,
I'm looking at changing suppliers for both Gas and Electric (currently with Southern for both).
I have been on the comparison sites and they don't come up with Ecotricity. Does anyone know how they compare with the other suppliers on price etc?
Many thanks

They are on Energyhelpline, you need to show all results as when I checked they were about 25% more expensive than the cheapest on-line tarriff, and way down the list. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Thank you. I just used Energyhelpline and it didn't seem to come up on there either. I thought they would be more expensive but thought I would have a look as they are a company very local to me.0

Ah thanks....I think I clicked the 'view all' too far down and it didn't show Ecotricity at all. Looks like it will cost us an extra £95 a year to go with them. Shame as the company are very prominent locally (the company director is the chairman at the local football club etc etc) and it would have been nice to 'stay local' and all that but £95 is not to be sniffed at at this time.0

Hey - if you live locally, do you know anyone who works at Ecotricity? If so, ask them to name you in their friends and families scheme and you'll get £60 off each year. Doesn't quite make up the gap, but it's a lot closer - and if you sign up you can get a good new customer offer e.g. I had a case of wine from Naked Wines for free - worth at least £70. So not a bad deal, and the profit that they make goes towards more green power, not bigger payouts for shareholders like with the other suppliers...0

DEr - forgot to mention, that £60 is per fuel, so if you have both gas and electric with Ecotricity, it's a discount of £120 a year0

Ecotricity price match to the local supplier's standard tariff, so not really competitive to online discounted tariffs. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
