If your meter looks like the one pictured above, then presumably it will display "RATE 1" or "RATE 4", so you should be able to figure out when it's switching?
Yes the meter pictured it the one I have now. I complained to Eon that the storage heaters were coming on during the day and they sent a technician out who replaced an old ancient meter and time switch with the one pictured on Monday.
My issue is that altho they have replaced the meter they don't seem to care about the amount I have been over charged and just keep telling me to monitor my daily usage to isolate the problem when the only thing that has changed is the storage heaters!0 -
You need to know you rate, they will look something like this :
Daily Service Ch 16.840
Daytime Rate 1 - 9.876p per kWh
Night Rate 4 - 4 .816p per kWh
You will need to know the day / night split which will be something like 60/40 or a pensioner might be 49/51 for example
You will need to know your area number, it will be on your bill
[STRIKE]You need to know your area reference[/STRIKE]
You would do well to record your current and your old meter reference number
If you email your supplier your current meter readings and specifically ask what their billing system holds for previous [ old meter ] and current [ new meter ] calculated annual consumption [ CAC ] for your Day and Night consumption.
Once you have this figure, you can work out the effects of the new meter against the old meter. Your problem is you don't have figures for the old meter .. .. but your supplier does.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. You actually had a teleswitch with the old meter. These pieces of equipment pick up radio medium-wave signals and the time should be reliable on them. Doesn;t necessarily mean that the meter wasn;t faulty though0
