    Operating System and purchased software - I have disks for these, so they're easy to re-install.

    Downloaded applications from t'Internet - these always arrive as executable 'setup' files, which I save in a 'Downloaded Apps' folder. These get backed up as well as my data. If the HDD crashes, all I need do is copy these executables from the backup to new HDD and I'm operational again.

    Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    Paragon for drive backup (free), a 1TB USB drive for file backup, and Mozy from online backup (but will be switching when my current subscription runs out as they don't give you unlimited backup space any more).
