    Hi
I had exactly the same thing to me. I received a letter in dec from
Comliance asking for details of nursery and only then did I think 'whoops I havent told them' I was truly worried sick when I called tax credits to get them to take it off they didn't want to as it could affect the investigation so
I called back and let them know. It also took blooming numerous times to get through on the number that they gave me so I managed to get a different one. I've got it if you need it? I sent all my invoices off but as it was over Xmas it didn't all cone through til feb! Horrid wait so I know how you feel totally. I was honest when I sent my letter in. I said I realise thatbthwre is an overpayment and could I be contacted in order to repay asap. They said thanks for the letter and that repayments will e taken from future entitlement. I saw you won't get anything this year so from what I have heard it should be spread out equal payments over 12 months. Hope this helps. Any other questions message me xx
  • Thanks - I will send today - just didn't want to guess the address as when I phoned they said that it wasn't the usual Dept who are dealing with it and they didn't know the address..........very strange!!!!

You will have to send the info to this address as the compliance team are dealing with it. I'm in the same position as you. However, they sent me a renewal form where they clearly believe I dont pay for childcare.

Ive sent off my evidence-I think Ive been overpaid also, as I didnt tell them I had changed a child care provider to another provider.

    Send your letter recorded delivery
  • Hi all, I also received one of these letters, and the number on the letter is saying no longer exists... I called the tax credits helpline and they told me to sed docs and keep trying the number, I don't see the point in trying to call a number that no longer exists.... The numbers I have are.. 02890905521 and 02890805521 does anyone have an alternative number for the belfast office... I'm getting slightly concerned now!!

I would do as the helpline suggest. Either send the documents or write to them and say that you need more time but cannot request that by phone as the numbers are not working. Whatever you send use recorded delivery.

We received one of these letters as well, in May. I sent off all the relevant details in plenty of time. Got a letter back last week stating they dispute the amount we were claiming. It's a few pounds a week. It was expected as we started receiving funding in January and we both thought the other had notified them, inexcusable but hardly a hanging offence. The letter states they've adjusted our award accordingly and we'll receive a new award notice, or whatever they call it shortly.

My friend who owns a nursery did tell me at the time they are always on the phone to tax credits who want to check about this or that child. The friend did also say that on the day I spoke to them 8 parents had been into get copies of all the details stated my the op.

The way these letters are worded need looking into as they do come across as a tad harsh. Just send in the details they require. Like many on here we never had a formal contract as such just a word of mouth agreement. So we got the childcare provider to write a formal letter listing hours of care, weekly rate and a breakdown of money paid for that year.
