Orange Customer Services

I'm an Orange contract customer of 8 years, never missed a payment, and I'm very irritated.

Over the past couple of months, I have received a number of texts from Orange. I didn't want to receive them any more so about 2 months ago I called up, asked them to stop sending the texts, the guy said "they're stopped now", and I was happy with that until the next text came though later that day. After a few more texts, I called again, same response, then more texts, and another call with the same response, but after that call they sent me a text to ask if they had answered my query successfully. Nice touch.
A couple of weeks later, yesterday as it happens, I'm still receiving the texts. I called again and I spoke to a gentleman who after hearing my complaint, put me on hold for 10 minutes. I eventually hung up, then he called back saying everything was now sorted, I definitely wouldn't be receiving any more texts at all. I asked if he was sure, as I'd been trying to stop them for over a month. He replied "Yes, you definitely wont be receiving any more texts from us, but if you do, just call back and I'll stop them for you" It was at this point that I lost interest in the conversation as I was obviously dealing with an idiot and I said my goodbyes, only to instantly receive a text from Orange asking if I was happy with the service I had received after my telephone inquiry.
Today I called again, I was connected to a very jovial lady who also pretended to deal with my complaint, assuring me that no more texts would arrive at my phone, only for one to arrive seconds after I put the phone down to her.

How hard is it to stop marketing texts and texts about your viewing your bill online coming through?

Not as hard, it seems, as it could be for Orange to keep my custom come contract renewal.
