HSBC PPI Claim

Hi All,

I have received an email from Charterhouse claims regarding claiming back the PPI on a loan taken out 11 years ago (repayments will finish early next year yipeee). I've never been in arrears on this loan so assume I have a good chance of winning a claim if there is a case. My question is has anyone else heard or dealt with Charterhouse? Is there another company anyone would suggest? How do these claims work? Would I be expected to pay anything before or after a claim? A few people say to cut out the claim companies and do it yourself. How would you go about doing that? Lots of questions, sorry. I just don't want to submit anything and then wished I hadn't.

Thanks

Kate

    Hi Kate

We do not suggest using claims companies on here as such really, and as its rather straight forward and only a matter of completing a reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below.

There is more paperwork involved in using claims companies and as your aware they will charge as well.
Do it yourself and successful you get to keep all that rightfully belongs to you.

If you have reasons for being mis sold, just complete the questionnaire, send to the ones who set up the account, head office or complaints dept, they normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, but should keep you updated.
Remember though to keep copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to go back to it again at some point, good luck.

    Thanks for that :-)

I do have another question. I think we actually took out a remortage loan for 10 years so the paperwork I have is a mortage protection plan and also an income protection plan. Are these the same as a PPI? I'm really useless at this sort of thing lol.

    Your welcome.

Hopefully dunstonh will see this and will know more in regards of the mortgage protection, and via income plan, as he deals with these matters, good luck.
