Scottish Power direct 2012

The Scottish Power direct 2012 price sheets states:

For domestic ScottishPower Direct October 2012 Offer customers prices effective from 7th June 2011.

Does this mean that the price rise from August has already been allowed for in these prices or will these prices increase in August?

Also should I change to that tariff now or wait until the 1st July when my eon fixonline 8 tariff ends?

SP have confirmed that this tariff will not be going up on 1st August. The risk of not changing to that tariff now is that it might not be available come 1st July. Therefore, I suppose that you need to decide whether you are prepared to take that risk or not.

    Hope this helps.

My god, they've only just introduced it. Ofgem are asking Supplier's to make matters simpler for customers and reduce number of tariffs.

If they abandoned it within a month it surely would set some of record. :D

    Another Question

If, or most likely when, Scottish Power increase this tariff, will I be able to leave it for another supplier without having to pay any penalty?

Perhaps the Scottish Power rep could answer this.

Unless I am going mad, looking at the SP website, the SP Direct October 2012 tariff does indeed appear to have been withdrawn! It looks like I was right to have mentioned above that it could be withdrawn before 1st July (even though it was only introduced a couple of weeks ago!).

I have no idea what SP are up to!

It has probably been withdrawn because

Ofgem is also probing claims by Scottish Power in its marketing for its Direct October 2012 tariff which stated consumers could save £459 a year.

It is being reported on the BBC website that Scottish Power said:

"The tariff in question was a very limited offer with considerably discounted prices, which is now fully subscribed."

Oh well, I suppose it will have to be SG websaver 12, unless that is withdrawn as well.

Or even stay with eon and go on to online saver 7 which is "only" £4.50 a month more than what Scottish Power Direct and SG websaver 12 would cost me.

    Absolutely brilliant. :rotfl:

It's like they were selling off a few mouldy old sausages before the sell by date.

Now fully subscribed  Who thinks this piffle up? :D
