Cutting wall for isolator switch

Need to cut out some wall on landing for electrician to install isolator switch for extractor in bathroom.
Want to cut out wall high up right by the ceiling so is at least intrusive as possible.
Wondering what to cut wall out with though? It has to be cut out 30mm deep. Small angle grinder wont do it (as too close to ceiling). Really dont want to install the isolator switch any further down wall.
I thought bolster, but somebody told me 30mm is too deep or something for bolster...???? Confused.
Please can you suggest easiest best way to cut this small amount of wall out at the topof the wall right by the ceiling?
Thanks

If the wall is brick then mark the outline of the box then drill holes all around the line (mark the depth require with tape on the drill bit) then chisel out with a cold chisel.0

ah good point. Wall is plastered 'plater & lathe'. Please can you advise further. Thanks0

in which case you need to locate a stud (vertical timber) and cut out so that the box can be fixed on this. You may need to chisel out a bit of the stud in order to fit the box, but it depends on how deep your lathe and plaster is. Cut the lathes with a padsaw. You can use a small drill bit to locate the stud - drill in a horizontal line until hit it - when you drill though the lathes you will push right through into the cavity. Studs tend to be around 12" apart but it can vary

PS Why isn't the electrician doing it? Not being funny but he/she'll have done it loads of times and can make a neat job0 -
Thanks chaps:j0

Why not either put it surface ? or recess it into the ceiling using a dry lining box ?You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Quite again. That's what we electricians are paid to do. I wouldn't want to hanging around while someone who didn't know how to do it, tried to. If you see what i mean.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Electrician not doing it as he charges us peanuts (and hes Part P too). We're happy to help to keep the costs down. Job all done today - finito. Many Thanks to all. Really just love this forum & the folk on it!0
