We're talking about the same system. It gets laid as a flat thingy, soaked in resin and then inflated inside the drain. When it hardens it's solid as a rock.

This is one firm who advertise it and explain it. Can't recommend the firm as I don't know them but there are dozens of google references to others doing the same thing. Bound to be one in FrenchBird's area. http://firstexpress.rtrk.co.uk/?scid=20890&kw=5555528&pub_cr_id=6538540008

As you're selling the property surely it would be more cost effective to simply sell the problem with the house.

If you are still negotating with the buyer ask to view the survey, which should have an estimate of the costs involved, then offer to reduce the sale price by a percentage of those costs.

If you're no longer dealing with that buyer you may want to weigh up the cost of repairing the drain, compared to simply hiding the evidence of minor subsidence, which is often only a bit of new plaster/pointing, then finding yourself a new buyer.

You're selling a house after all and in the property world caveat emptor goes a long way.

There's no need to be sarcastic. I know nothing about this kind of things and I'm really worried I won't be able to afford it.
What he is actually saying is apart from sheer guesswork you have provided far too little data to offer any sensible opinion.

How can you have "possible" minor subsidence. Either you have subsidence or you don't. It sounds like the surveyor is just covering all the options in case there actually is some subsidence. But he hasn't done enough tests to find out.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Spot on. Sounds just like a House Buyers Survey not a full structural survey. Waste of paper and money - chock full of CYA.
