Apologies for repeating this thread after posting on the Money Savers Arms board but I want to get as much exposure for this as possible. Please delete and accept my sincere apologies admins if this is not acceptable.

Orange shops have the little men from the advert free for a charitable donation (suggested £1). Lots of ebay profiteers are selling these trying to make money out of them.

I have written an ebay guide to try prevent this happening and get the money to where it is meant to go, Sense, a UK deafblind charity.

Please go to my ebay guide and vote it as helpful. That way you can help curb the profiteers and redirect money to charity. (Assuming I understand how the Ebay guides system works).

Thanks very much guys :)

  • Is it possible that these people have bought the little toy and decided they don't want it, therefore, selling them on ebay? If that's the case, the money has gone to the proper place in the first place?

Wish they weren't for sale, as it detracts donations. I hope Sense is actually going to use use the monies for the development of a mobile phone for deafblind people, who currently have no access to mobiles. We've yet to see Braille sms.

I would argue that they had most likely already decided they didn't want them when they grabbed them all off the counter in Orange shops and put 50p in.

They're going for silly prices on Ebay now. Someone's listing one starting at £14.99. This one sold for £32 + £2 P&P. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ORANGE-TOGETHERNESS-WIND-UP-MEN-TOY-AS-SEEN-ON-ADVERT_W0QQitemZ130064145999QQihZ003QQcategoryZ10364QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem No doubt the person who got it to sell it probably put less than 50p in the donation box and they get all that money and Ebay makes money out of it too.

It really has detracted donations from a very worthwhile charity. I think it was great that orange did this for charity, but again people want to fill their own pockets more than they want to give to charity.
