Blown patio window replacement

Hia,

Any idea if these quotes are fair?

£145 or £195 to replace patio door window which has blown. £195 is if I want Pilkington K glass, £145 if not.

Also, £195 for a small bathroom window to be fitted with a double glazed window - currently wood frame.

Thanks,

You haven't stated your area, this may be advisable as the cost can vary depending on where you live in the country. The price of the whole window seems reasonable however you shouldn't need to pay more for K glass as patio doors need toughened glass in them as standard otherwise they will fail building regs.

The info above is partly incorrect.

K glass is a Low E glass, it is available in Float and Toughened (float is the term used for un-toughened glass).
You will pay more for K glass, it's a Low E glass (this is compared to clear float and clear toughened) K glass is one of many Low E glasses that now have to be used in windows and doors due to part L of the building regs.
Low E glass is normal glass with a metallic coating applied, Low E glass is available in soft or hard coat (K is a hard coat)

There are certain situations where you do not need to use a Low E glass.

I worked 8 years for the worlds biggest glass manufacturer dealing with most of the UK's window, door and curtain wall fabricators, PM if you want any more info.
