Santander !!! - Card Payment delays

The same happened to me today too, I had a transction from 11 days ago come out of my account this morning and pushed me into overdraft. When I called them just now they were great, explained that this is an ongoing issue that has affected many customers' account transactions between the 10th and 12th of June and offered to give me a hundred pounds overdraft to do me til pay day and will reverse the bank charges when they appear next month.

No hassle at all. Good job Santander, admitted the problem and offered a solution!

To all those who are in steadfast disbelief that a person doesn't always know their exact bank balance at all times, this is the first time in 8 years that Abbey/Santander have not displayed my corrrect 'Available Balance' and therefore I have come to trust and rely on this figure to keep a track on my spending and balances.

This is the first time I have gone into overdraft in that time and it's a result of this bank error so sanctimonious head shaking really isn't appropriate in this case. It's that sort of passive nastiness that stops people posting on forums for help.
