  • Thanks Tigerfeet2006

One more question about the OR interview, how long does the telephone interview last? I thought it involved picking over the SOA in detail?

He has a ltd compnay that will need to be wound up at the same time so he may need to do a F2F perhaps?

  • Hi DoubleTrouble,

The process of going to court was very simple, I didnt even have to go in to see the judge as the person who i paid my fee to went in for me. I have had my telephone interview with the OR a week later, and they were also very nice. It took about an hour, as I too had a Ltd Co, but I did not need a F2F interview, as the Ltd Co is a seperate legal entity, and it was me personally that was gonig bankrupt. They have not requested any details from my Ltd Co, or accounts etc, at the end of the interview I was told they would probably not need to contact me again, they do not want to consider and IPA, and was told basically that was it as far as they were concerned, and to get on with my life as long as I stick to the terms of my bankruptcy. I couldnt believe it was so simple, after 2 years of sleepless nights I finally had a good night's sleep. Good luck with your partners BR, I am sure it will be a big relief when its all over :)
  • Thank you jojomojo you must be so relieved!

It's just putting the right steps in the right order, getting organised and ready to just "push the button" and go for it!

only worry OH has is his ltd company owes corp tax - but I guess that gets written off too...

it's just a sad series of events over the years, borrowing off peter to pay paul, work not being regular, etc. Such a shame it has come to this but the stress of being up to his ears in debt will be dreadful for his health if we don't get this sorted in next few weeks so just collating as much info and advise as possible...

The corp tax does not get written off in his bankruptcy, the company will still owe that unless it is wound up as well
