I can hear them moving around. My best guess is it's a bird that fell down the flu......
I don't use the boiler in summer, but will they find their way out?
.....?

but will they find their way out?
probably not, they'll probably die there - sorry.0 -
Get a gas man in ASAP to open it up and let the bird out and clean it out.
It will probably cost a few pounds but will be far cheaper than having to do it after the dead bird has rotted and bits of it (and maggots) have blocked the flue and maybe !!!!!!ed the boiler totally.0 -
He might be a bit bemused. Not just by the life in the boiler but by the lack of gas.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »Get a gas man in ASAP to open it up and let the bird out and clean it out.

Definitely get someone in. It could be a mouse - and who knows what the l'il so-and-so will chew through in his desperation to get out.
Also - as someone else has already suggested - if a beastie dies in there you REALLY don't want that smell in your home.
Good luck! x0
