Another one - B&Q refunds

Me again,
On a roll today!
We bought some laminate flooring from B&Q in February and went to lay it last month. It is shocking quality and not fit for purpose, many of the chipboard ends broke off when it was being laid and it all had to be packed back up again and the stinky old carpet put back down until we can source better flooring.
Since it was bought in Feb it's past the 45 day return period so I thought we'd just have to write it off but today, when going through our finances and seeing that money just wasted because we didn't try to lay it straight away I'mthinking, why should we take that loss?
Does anyone know if B&Q will refund after 45 days if the goods are cleary unusable?

There 45 day policy is in addition to you statutory rights and really comes into play if you decided you didn't like a product or bough too much of it.
If it is clearely unfit for purpose, then your statutory rights come into play and you should be able to return it eevn now.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Whilst Phill99 is spot on, B&Q may ask how you stored the laminate, since even a small amount of damp can damage chipboard. Not being accusatory, I just know a huge number of homes (including mine) had a condensation problem due to difficulties ventilating during the long cold winter. You may of course strike it lucky and there has been a recall of that batch!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
