Credit Rating - Moved house

Looking for a bit of advice here - I've recently moved out of my parents' home into a rental property. This is my first "non-student" rental, and I decided to change my address on my bank account, credit card, mobile phone contract etc. However, I've been giving my credit rating a bit of thought recently and have realised that changing my address was a stupid thing to do - I don't have a wonderful rating to begin with (I haven't looked at a report, but I know my rating isn't great) but I had 22 years at the same address to my name, plus my name on the electoral roll. Having changed my address, I've effectively wiped my rating, haven't I?
I could build my rating up, but my worry is that I'll be moving again once my contract in my current house is up, after a year. Then it's another address on the credit file...you can see the problem.
So my question is - would I be better changing my address back to my parents'? The issue is this would show up as *another* move, but at least it's a permanent address which I can eventually change when I am settled somewhere. I really regret changing the address, it's going to make things very difficult should I ever need/want some more credit.
Thanks for any advice :-)

Your length of time at your address is only one factor potential lenders would take into account. If all your credit history of repaying debts is good, you are on the electorall roll etc then it shouldn't on its own have a major impact on your ability to get credit.
I would register correctly on the electoral roll at your current property where you actually live and carry on from there.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Correct, providing you put on any application forms, your previous address, they will review your details on that and not just your new address.0
