I've done a quick and dirty import of the postcodes into Google Maps if this helps anyone visualise it a bit better :)

I went to my local participating BP LEYTON garage a hour ago and the duty manager refused to honour the wash. At first he thought it was 50p off the cost of a wash and when I stated that it was a wash FOR 50p,he refused saying the voucher is not right as we have to give it to you and you cannot print it online....to say I was fuming is to put it mildly. I told him it was from BP's own website and offered to show it to him on my iphone but he was not interested:mad:
Anyway, I took down his name and I would just liketo know if anyone has any suggestions on where to take it from here??

Your help would be much appreciated.......

Well as it's listed in the participating stores PDF list he's completely in the wrong.

Being the duty manager, the guy above him may not have told him about the offer yet, so it may be worth asking for the details of the actual manager. The only contact form on the BP website is a really generic one so I spose you could try there, but I don't know how much joy you'd have with it: http://www.bp.com/retail/genericformsdisplay.do?formId=7050353&categoryId=3500

I could be wrong but I think only bp garages that are owned and operated by bp are part of this offer - hence why a lot of bp garages are not part of this offer as they are franchises.

  • Hi, I printed out the 50p car wash voucher and took it to my local BP Garage on Balham High Road. However, the voucher was refused by the sales person at the garage!

He said that I had to have an original voucher. I told him I printed it from the PDF from the BP website, but he said that I had to have an original sent by BP in the post.

I was furious that my limited amount of time has been wasted. He insisted that clause 4 of the Terms and Conditions 'copied or printed in error are invalid'. Meant that copies or printed vouchers are not acceptable. He just didn't get it when I asked him what was I supposed to do if he wouldn't accept a print out?

The whole experience has left me with a very negative view of BP and given that there is a Tesco garage across the road from this garage, why should I continue to buy my petrol from BP in the future when Tesco is cheaper and offer a much friendlier service.

    Chris

I dont see how this off is just for staff as staff are normally given promotions direct from BP. This offer is on the BP website so it is accessable to everyone otherwise it would state it.

As you can see from other posts some people are having trouble with the car wash vouchers.I was asked if i was staff i was just trying to help but in future i wont bother if people like you are going to be negative

I went to a garage on the PDF list, said no, you have to go to the one opposite Sainsbury, went there, no BP garage, found one, asked about the offer, manageress said yes, then assistant said it is only for employees. If it is, then why is it accessible from their site, and why no mention on the voucher?

Have e-mailed them to ask what the position is, will see what they say in reply.
  • How strange. On the website it say photocopies may be accepted. And on the voucher it says vouchers photocopied and printed in error will not be accepted. What does that mean?

Vouchers like this are always the same.. Vouchers issued by head office but the garages/stores are unawear of them.. surly it is basic business to let your staff know what offers are on?

I have the voucher and a BP garage on the list is just down the road, but I really dont fancy standing in there, with everone looking at me and be accused of lying.

Might just save myself 50p and do it myself
