Hello
Just looking dfor a little advice.
We live in a little 2 bed terrace house with a yard. We are happy here we like the area just would look a garden.
We have my 14 yr old stepson who stays on a weekend and we have a 2.5 year old son and our now expecting twins.
We immediatly looked into moving as we would now need a 3 bed. We paid 98000 for our property in 2006 and we have invested at least 10000 into new kitchen new bathroom etc etc. We have had the house valued and they said we would be lucky to see 99950 as people would be cheeky with low offers.
Due to the fact as seen as no equity 100% mortgage the thing at the time and my partner bween a builder and that market been unstable we cant borrow more.
We have applied to social housing for help and practically been told we have no chance they wont even look at us till the babies are here and have no legal duty to them till they are 1 even tho I will have a 14 year old in the same bedroom.
Any advice from any1 out there what you would do ??????

If you can't finance a move to a larger property you will have to make do with what you have. Get a sofa-bed and have the 14 year-old sleep in the reception room when he stays once the twins move from your bedroom in with the 2 year-old.
Social housing is allocated according to need. You are currently adequately housed so you will stand no chance of getting to the front of the queue ahead of those who are currently homeless.0 -
As a builder, could your partner not build an extension / convert the loft?
Could you re-jig the layout and have 3 smaller bedrooms? Perhaps with a bathroom off the kitchen?Current Debt: 0%.Current House Deposit: 7%.0 -

We could possibly go up into the loft but again would be a very small room. And we would have to gain the finances for the material etc but it is a p;ossibility but maybe not worth it due to ceiling prices of properties in our area£322.00/£3500 - CC - 26/04/110 -
could you rent yours out and rent somewhere bigger in the meantime?0

How can they rent out the property when they have little to no equity?0
