I've just come across the Phone Co-op site and it looks quite interesting. Has anyone on here used them or had experience of them? I want rid of Virgin.

YES! I'm an unashamed fan. Line rental, calls, broadband, mobile soon. I really like being a member. It is quite refreshing getting hold of a real person to talk to very easily. Straight forward, honest, approach (and off-peak starts at 6pm until 8am, too). No "low user surcharge" nonsense or such similar rubbish. For reasonably light phone users, the CallerPlus tariff is a way to avoid connection fees and make much cheaper calls on a pay-as-you-use basis compared with the way most are going now with ever higher connection fees and per minute prices. You can choose a paper bill if you prefer and there is no extra charge.
I fully admit they are not going to be the cheapest compared to deals on here, but I like the knowledge that I can get hold of them easily if I need to, all queries have been answered promptly. After some very shoddy experiences, I've come to the conclusion that saving a couple of quid each month on the phone bill isn't worth it - it's less stress to make savings elsewhere and have a phone service that I feel I can trust and rely on. As a member, I do earn a little bit of dividend (profit share) as they are a co-operative society. It's the smallness and friendliness that makes them stand out for me!0
