So annoyed with O2 connection times!

I decided to move my O2 broadband to a new flat. They said it would take 5 working days but could be quicker if I also took a phone line with them
So I did.
All of the confirmation emails/texts/phone conversation said my new internet would be connected this Friday the 24th June.
Now they're saying it'll take 13 days. They're disconnecting the line I'm on now today and aren't installing the new line until the 4th July  Apparently it's too late to stop and there's 'nothing they can do' with regards to giving me temporary mobile internet or anything.
I only signed up again to another 12 month contract cause they said it'd leave me without internet for barely any time at all.
OH needs it more than me but it's still a massive pain for me trying to apply for jobs, book train tickets & order bits & pieces for the new house.
Considering cancelling the contract & trying to find someone who will do it faster
So I did.

Buy a USB 3G dongle. 20 quid will get you 1GB access over a month. Yes it's another expense but it's better than not having it.0

I'll probably have to. Just more of a pain that I was feeling pleased to have avoided when i spoke to them yesterday
I'll look into the cheapest/easiest option.
I asked if they could loan me one for nowt for the unexpected 10 days of no connection but they wouldn't.0 -

Sorry, feeling much calmer now. thanks
It looks like three or o2 for 3g broadband. They annoyed me but no cutting off nose to spite faceTrying to work out the best deal now. Looks like there are some decent cashback deals so it shouldn't be too expensive.
Need to try & work out what sort of data amount I actually need.0 -
If it's just for a month (or even just 2 weeks), I'd go PAYG. You can get a 1GB PAYG USB stick on most of the networks for around or under 20 quid from Argos / PC World / Amazon.0

2gb preloaded data
under £20
no install neededhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
So far I've found
o2: 2gb for £35
plus BT/cloud wifi. There's definitely some nearby as i see them come up on my phone sometimes when im out.
three: 3gb for £30
and now the £20 for 2gb one posted above.
topcashback lists £25 for O2 and maybe £12.12 for three but the list's a bit confusing.0 -

Don't forget to send them the bill for whatever measures you need to take to mitigate their failure to fulfil the contract.
Do make sure that there are no weasel words in the contract that say they are not responsible for failure to complete. (Although a court may strike out such clauses under unfair terms and conditions legislation.)There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Sorry for the OP, but they might provide a gesture of goodwill but that is all.
When it comes to phones and broadband, you need to have one hell of a muck up (we are talking months of service disruption), before the OP might be entitled to anything else.
I would say first months broadband free would be a nice gesture.0 -

Do you not have a library or internet cafe or other similar place which offer free or extremely cheap internet access in your area.
Or maybe around a friends house.0
