I had 3 credit cards and 2 loans with PPi on them but i couldnt afford the payments and in sept 2004 i started a dmp with cccs, would i still be able to claim? I also remember going in to barclays at one point and speaking to a personal banker about the insurance on my loan and asking if i could cancel it but he told me that it was paid upfront so basically ANOTHER loan that was added to my original loan and therefore i couldnt cancel.

There's nothing to prevent you making a complaint, depending how much information you can recall about the sale of the PPI and why you feel it was mis-sold to you.

If you did get a refund but still owed money to the lender, it would probably be deducted from the balance rather than being paid to you.

Be careful if you choose to use a claims company.

Suppose you were awarded £1000, and the lender reduced your balance by that figure.

The claims company would then send you a bill for, say, £360.
