At that point the bank will hopefully accept that you've been duped. Or ask them if they can cancel the transfer?
Just don't use any of the £997 for anything.
Which bank did you speak to, Natwest or Santander? You need to speak to both.
Yeah, so you don't think I will get done for fraud? I'm really worried about all this. I can transfer the money back when it clears into my Natwest account no problem. I've asked Santander to cancel the transfer and they cannot to that. All I can do is put it back when it clears.0 -
Did you speak to Natwest? You really need to tell them that you have reason to think that that it's dodgy and see what they say.
There's a difference between the money arriving in your account at Natwest and it being cleared.
So far I don't see how you've defrauded anyone, the only person so far likely to be out of pocket is yourself. However, I don't think it's a good idea to do more transactions using this money.0 -

And what was the task?anna_conda wrote: »So far I don't see how you've defrauded anyone, the only person so far likely to be out of pocket is yourself. However, I don't think it's a good idea to do more transactions using this money.
Could it be more to do with money laundering ?
Of course - it could always be fully legit“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Of course it could be money laundering, or it could be the perpetrators simply stealing from the OP - it's definitely NOT legit on their part.
Either way , so far the OP has done nothing wrong, but be a bit naive. HOWEVER if he keeps moving this amount round the banking system once he has good reason to think there's something illegal going on he won't be on such firm ground.0 -

As far as the task - there was no task - just that the money arrived in my account. I asked them why the put £997 in my account and I got this message on the site back from them:
Dear Mr. ********* (removed my name),
You are to deduct your comission and send the funds to client's manager.
What's the reason of removal?
Best Regards,
Ms. Annaliese Salzgeber,
Personal Manager,

The way this works is that they expect you to send money to the 3rd party (the client) before the funds are cleared, and then, when they don't clear, you are the person who is down by £997 and they are up by £997.
Remember cleared is not the same as the money arriving in your account.
Have you spoken to Natwest? You should not carry out any more transactions using this money.0 -
Based in Austria, a Ltd Co but not appearing on companies house.
More like "Wood Customer Fall for this Trick?"
Have they tried to access your defunct Santander account yet?
Please keep us informed of their next move.0 -

Wood Customer Ltd.
Woodcustomer.com is an American company so I don't think they would have a "Ltd" in the company name.
I though all US limited companies were LLC. (limited liability company)Brucie bonus - Why does the first google result for woodcustomer.com point to this thread but with a date of 15 June 11? that was 6 days ago but the thread was started today.
I think it's a Google problem.
I've noticed something similar on other web searches today.0 -

I have contacted Natwest and because its going to take 3 working days to transfer to Natwest, they said once it shows in my account as a credit , they can easily reverse it to my Santander account0
