Will we loose out under ESA?

Hi,

Just a quick question about the new ESA benefit. My partner gets IB at the moment contribution based and he gets an extra £50 for me as a dependant as we have a child.

He also gets an occupational pension (started in 1997). Nothing at the moment is taken off his IB because of this as I believe there is a rule that its ok as long as you got occupational pension before 2001.

Assuming if he pasess the new ESA test, would he loose the dependant payment of £50 for me and will his occupational pension over £85 be then taking into consideration, as I am not sure on both these matters?

Thank you
Tina

Providing he passess the ESA medical then his pension will continue to be disregarded but the I don't believe he will continue to receive the Dependant payment as there is no rquivalent under ESA.
