Just a warning to you all.....
Having been on Scottish Power's Online Energy Saver 10 dual fuel tariff for the past year or so, I received the price increase email last week. Expecting an increase of about 19% - as has had been widely reported in the press I was surprised to find that my gas costs per KWh had risen dramatically.
5.339p to 7.616p - 43% increase
2.162p to 3.477p - 61% increase
They have changed my tariff to a 'premier plus' what ever that is. Needless to say I've switched to EDF's fixed tariff.
My advice to you all is to actually check what you will be paying, as it seems the price increase is not uniform.

Have received the price increase email today. I'm also on OES10.
Electricity
First 225kWh +30.9%
Remaining +31.1%
Gas
First 670kWh +51.7%
Remaining +45.3%
Suffice to say, i've already put the wheels in motion to move. They owe me £106 at the moment, so I expect a refund.0 -
Have received THE EMAIL giving my increases from SP and they are way over the 19% quoted in lots of press articles. Mine are very similar to "tight git".
However, they do say that if I switch to A N Other BEFORE the start date of the new tarriff (i.e. Aug 1st) then they will not charge any increases OR cancellation charges.
So I am hoping we get more announcements from other suppliers about their increases BEFORE Aug 1st so that I can make an informed decision rather than guess what is coming from whoever. I may be risking it as the fixed tarriffs available NOW may not be available then.
If not I may well be forced to switch 'in the dark'.
In fact If the prices go up any more we all may be 'in the dark'!!!! :rotfl:0
