    Another option is to just try F8 and see if you get to the Safe Mode selection menu that way. If you can is there a 'Repair computer' selection option. Already selected that and it never helped really

    Another thing to check - as soon as you power on keep tapping F2 to get into the BIOS menu. In the BIOS go to the Advanced tab and ensure 'Hard disk recovery' is enabled. If not, enable it and try the Alt F10 again. Pressing F2 gives me a 'Pheonix Secure(tm) Setup Utility' menu with a 'Information', 'Main', 'Security', 'Boot' headers. I cannot see a Advanced Tab or Hard Disk Recovery option.

    If you can't get to the Acer Recovery D: partition (should be called PQSERVICE) then you can try get some Windows install disks but you need the your license key to do a fresh install. Produkey will find this. Can you not download it using Safe Mode with Networking?
